Following the rigorous process that leads to the appointment of Vice-Chancellors in Nigerian University, authorities and management of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife have approved the appointment of Prof. Ayobami T. Salami (Immediate past DVC, Academic) as the 11th Vice-Chancellor of the University.
Prof. Salami from the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Control, is a Bachelor of Science graduate from the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University). He obtained his Masters degree in the same University with specialty in Land Use and Natural Resources Management. Prof. Ayobami Salami thereafter capped it with a Ph.D from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife.
You will recall that over 11 candidates indicated interest in occupying the Vice-Chancellorship position.
