Governor Olusegun Mimiko celebrated his 62nd birthday with over 5,000 Ondo Youths under the aegis of Orange Youth Network. The event centre had an over flow of attendants as youths from all the 18 local governments converged at the Dome to celebrate the great Iroko.
The Director General, Orange Youth Network (organizers of the event), Barrister Kayode Ajulo tasked the youths present on self discovery towards a path of discovery by taking a cue from the achievements of Governor Mimiko, he also noted that with a collective resolve we can build Nigeria of our dream.
The former Governor of Old Ondo State, Evang. Bamidele Olumilua corroborated the earlier stance of Bar. Ajulo, he implored the youths to imbibe the creativity, energy and commitment of Mimiko. He added that Mimiko unique qualities made him excel even at a much younger age when he was the Commissioner of Health in his administration.
Hon. Joseph Iranola Akinlaja, in his lecture titled “Irokoism an Exploration of the Emergence Political ideology of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko” gave a succinct dissection of IROKOISM, which he said centers on selfless service to humanity especially, ideological position of good choices basically to transform the society. Drawing examples from the various achievements recorded under the CARING HEART programmes of the Mimiko led administration.
An elated Dr. Olusegun Mimiko couldn’t hide his joy when addressing the audience at the massive turn out and the well packaged event delivered by OYNET. He thanked the youths for their support since the beginning of his tenure and said sustaining the masses orientated project is paramount and the key to that is voting for Barrister Eyitayo Jegede in the November, 26th election.
