Kano State government has described a damning report claiming that the state is characterized by the highest and alarming rate of insecurity in Nigeria.
The disclosure was made by Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, who described the repost as “false, misleading, and completely untrue.”
The clarification was made during a parley with newsmen after Abdullahi defended his ministry’s budget proposal before the state House of Assembly.
The commissioner maintained that the state is doing remarkably well in terms of securing lives and property. He called on journalists to ensure objectivity and balanced reporting.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustaining security collaborations with law enforcement agencies, traditional institutions, and community leaders to ensure Kano remains one of the most peaceful states in the country.
