Akure, the capital city of Ondo State was in the world map over the weekend as members and Chief Delegates from Junior Chamber International, South West converged to hold her annual Area Council of Presidents’ Meeting and Officer Training School on the 8 – 10th of January, 2016.
The event which was held at Jojein Hotel and Resort, Airport Road, Akure had in attendance the 2016 National President, JCIN (Amb.) Tunji Oyeyemi; 2007 National President, JCI Senator Jimoh Musa Yusuf; 2010 National President, JCI Senator Ayoade Abolusodun; 2014 National President, JCI Senator Saheed Adeyemi Adegoke; Charter President JCI Eko JCI Senator Otunba Tunji Adekoya; 2016 NVP North East JCIN (Amb.) Anthony Adeniranye among other dignitaries.
The chief host of the event, 2016 JCIN Executive Vice President South-West, JCIN (Amb.) Henry Adedokun appreciated members for coming and assured them that the Officer training school will add significant values to their lives.
The event started with an interview session on Orange 96.5 fm where the National President in company of South West EVP, NVP and Chapter President JCI Akure, intimated radio listeners in Ondo State and beyond on the objectives of Junior Chamber International, stating that the organization is aimed at creating community based impacts in Nigeria and the world. He therefore invited youths of like mind between ages 18 and 40 to join the organization.
The highlight of the event was the New Year party where members unwind and danced to the old school music from the DJ.
As early as 9am on Saturday, members and delegates across the six (6) Southwestern states and Kwara state were seen seated in colourful business-like attire where the OTS Trainer (JCI Senator Otunba Tunji Adekoya) took them on the topic “Leading Towards Sustainable Impacts). The training session was followed by an interactive session with Past National Presidents invited for the Event.
The event wouldn’t be complete without City Chapter Presidents of JCI Nigeria South-West and Collegiate Chapters presenting their Plan of Action for 2016.
