POLICE ARREST WANTED ARMED ROBBER TERRORIZING ADAMAWA-GOMBE STATE

Zephaniah Alfred, a 29-year-old suspected armed robber who has been marked by the Adamawa State Police Command on its wanted list of violent crimes around the Numan–Gombe Road axis of the state has been apprehended.

 

Suleiman Nguroje, the state Police Public Relations Officer made this known in a statement released on Wednesday explained that the arrest was sequel to a petition submitted by Ibrahim Maikano who claimed that the suspect had threatened to kill him.

 

“On the strength of that, operatives of the Command attached to Numan Divisional Police Headquarters, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), apprehended the suspect, Zephaniah Alfred, 29 years old,” the statement partly read.

 

Nguroje disclosed that the suspect had long been wanted by the command for his involvement in armed robbery activities that had terrorised Numan, Gombe Road, and surrounding areas.

 

The arrest of the suspect therefore led to the execution of a search warrant on the residence of the suspect. This however led to the recovery of several incriminating stuff.

 

“A search warrant was executed at the residence and premises of the suspect, resulting to the recovery of the following items:

 

“One (1) locally made pistol, Two (2) live AK-47 ammunitions, One (1) live pistol ammunition, One (1) live cartridge, One (1) pair of military camouflage uniform, Four (4) military camouflage caps, Two (2) military camouflage T-shirts, One (1) black torchlight. “

 

Suleiman however noted that the exhibits have been taken into police inventory and they are to serve as evidence after the interrogation of the suspect.
