The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party has mocked a former Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Agboola Ajayi for defecting to the ruling All Progressives’ Congress.
Mr Wande Alabi, the state Publicity Secretary of the PDP downplayed the defection, emphasizing that the party is still dedicated to rebuilding and presenting a credible alternative to the APC..
He said, “The PDP has noted the defection of Mr Agboola Ajayi to the All Progressives Congress. While this decision is entirely his personal choice, the PDP remains a party driven by ideals, internal democracy, and a genuine commitment to the welfare of the people—not by political convenience or transient interests.
“Our focus remains on strengthening our grassroots structures and offering a people-oriented alternative to the APC’s failed governance.”
The party warmly assured its members and supporters that it remains united, resilient, and strongly committed to continuing its important role as a robust opposition force in Ondo State.
