Ondo 2024: Students Bodies Endorse Aiyedatiwa for Second Term, Promise Campaign Support

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) have declared their support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s re-election bid in the upcoming November 2024 election.

The student groups met with the deputy governor, Olayide Adelami, on Thursday at the governor’s office. NAOSS National President Ahmed Oyelade praised Aiyedatiwa’s performance in education, citing the governor’s recent grant for infrastructure development at Olusegun Agagu University and payment of staff salaries at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic.

Oyelade announced the creation of the Aiyedatiwa Students Movement, a collaboration between NAOSS and NANS, to promote the governor’s campaign across all 18 local government areas. NANS acting chairman Rasheed Salami commended Aiyedatiwa’s “life-changing policies” and pledged the students’ support for his “REDEEMED agenda” on education.

The student bodies presented their demands to the governor and requested permission to begin campaigning. Governor Aiyedatiwa welcomed their endorsement and pledged continued partnership on improving education. He encouraged the students to spread his message peacefully and reiterated his vision for Ondo to become a “thriving destination for knowledge acquisition and innovation.”
