The Nigerian Army has revealed that it is absorbing 6,195 fresh regular combatants into its workforce to improve its strength and operational capabilities.
The fresh combatants commenced training at the Depot Nigerian Army in Zaria on January 13 as members of the 88 Regular Recruit Intake have now completed their six month military training.
Out of the 6,450 intakes who commenced the training program in January, only 6,195 could complete the training. A total of 255 person couldn’t complete the training.
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, is expected to be the reviewing officer at the passing out parade of the new regular combatants who are expected to boost the manpower needs of the army.
The new recruits are to be deployed to various operational theatre across the country to assist in the fight against threats and violent uprisings.
They are intended to undergo further specialized training that will equip them for efficiency in their areas of specialization.
