No fewer than Ten different capital projects estimated at the sum of one billion, two hundred and ninety- nine million, Eight hundred and seventy-five thousand, one hundred and fifty- nine naira, Eighty- kobo (#1,299,875,150.80), are to be executed in Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) Ondo, this year 2026 by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND).
The projects, which are part of the year 2025 Tetfund Annual Intervention projects included the rehabilitation of seven different students hostels in the University. The hostels are Olunloyo, Cafe, Abiodun, Kiladejo, Oduduwa, Akorede and Tinubu.
In addition, other projects slated for execution also included construction of walkaways, supply and installation of solar lights in various departments, supply, installation, testing and furnishing of office complex and lecture theatre at the school of Education, Recreation centre and academic office blocks in the school.
Speaking at the financial bid opening exercise held on Monday June 15, 2026, the Vice-Chancellor, Adeyemi Federal University of Education(AFUED) Ondo, Prof. Bayode Isaiah Popoola, stated that the financial bid exercise represented one of the activities of University to ensure compliance with due process in the award of contracts in the institution. He urged participants at the financial bid opening exercise to be ” orderly and attentive”, during the exercise.
In her remarks on the occasion, the Director of Procurement, AFUED, Mrs. Aderonke Esrom, represented by a senior official from the Procurement Directorate, Mrs. Funmilade Francisca Omotayo, stated that the financial bid exercise, was preceded by Technical bid from where successful contractors, who scaled the scrutiny of Procurement selection committee were chosen.
The names of successful companies were SKB Nigeria Limited; Clustergate Nigeria Limited; Bilijoe + Berger Nigeria Limited; Desimic Nigeria Limited and Ureta Engineering Consult Limited.
Others were, Lerick Nigeria Limited; Karl-zing Global Investment Limited; Hilalex Investment Limited; Hezkay Multilinks Nigeria Limited and Onicon Resources Limited.
Also among the contractors were NY Options Limited; Vitals Integrated and General Experts; A.H.J Investment Nigeria Limited; Abytech Ventures Limited and Carolad Venture Limited.
The climax of the exercise was the opening of the bid documents submitted by the invited contractors by the Principal Procurement Officer from AFUED Directorate of Procurement, Mr. Adegboyega James Ojuri who also made public announcement of contract price offered by the invited contractors and the University price.
Speaking on the exercise after it’s completion, the representative of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), Dr. Olusola Ojo, who came to observe the exercise, commended the institution for exhibiting transparency saying ” as far as I am concern, I have witnessed this type of exercise in more than 150 schools, I am not surprised at the outcome because this school is noted for transparency and display of professionalism” he remarked.
