International Women’s Day; Aiyedatiwa Promises to Support Women-owned Businesses

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to investing in women’s programs.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, made this declaration while celebrating the International Women’s Day with Ondo state women in Akure on Thursday.

The governor emphasized the economic and social imperative of supporting women, stating that such investments benefit future generations and the community as a whole.

Aiyedatiwa pledged to continue delivering programs that empower women, ensuring equal access to opportunities and supporting women-owned businesses.

Addressing issues of women’s health and safety, the governor vowed to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and break barriers hindering women’s progress in the state.

The guest lecturer, Professor Helen Ogunsuyi, highlighted the importance of women in the current economic landscape, urging them to explore alternative sources of livelihood.

The Special guest, Mrs. Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, Iyaloja General, advised women to maintain peaceful families and contribute to the nation’s development.
