The Ondo State chapter of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has condemned the recent attack on Ipele community in Owo Local Government Area, describing the incident as a brutal assault on the peace and safety of residents. In a statement issued on Thursday, the party said it was “shocked and saddened by the brutal attack in Ipele community, Owo,” and extended its condolences to all victims and the entire people of Owo.
According to the statement, YPP denounced the violence in strong terms and called on the authorities to act swiftly. “We condemn this act of violence in the strongest terms and demand that the authorities investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice swiftly,” the party declared, insisting that the matter must not be allowed to linger.
The party stressed that the people of Ondo State deserve to live in peace and security, urging government at all levels to do more to protect communities. “The people of Ondo State deserve to live in peace and security. We urge the government to increase security measures and work with communities to prevent future attacks,” the statement read.

YPP also expressed solidarity with security agencies and residents of Owo, pledging its support as the community recovers from the incident. “We stand in solidarity with the Nigeria Police and the people of Owo and assure them of our support during this difficult time,” the party said.
The statement further urged the Ondo State government to be proactive in dealing with emerging security threats, especially movements of armed groups from other regions. “We urge the government of Ondo to be alert, prepared and be ready to mobilize security forces to repel fleeing terrorists from the northern part of the country. Ondo State must never be a safe haven for terrorists,” the party warned.
