Nigeria B goalkeeper Femi Thomas insists the Super Eagles will make the nation proud at the 2016 African Nations Championship which kicks off in January.
The country commenced preparation for the championship billed for Rwanda on Tuesday and the former Flying Eagles and Dream Team safe hands reveled preparation is in top gear for a spending outing.
“Training has being hard in camp but all boils down to one mission which is to make Nigeria proud in Rwanda,” Thomas told Goal.
“Qualifying for the tournament is not our last stop, we intend to lift the title having placed third in our debut outing in South Africa.
“We can’t afford to fail Nigerians at this point and we will certainly give all our best to ensure we subdue other teams.”
The Super Eagles will face former champions Tunisia and debutants Niger and Guinea in Group C and the Enyimba goalkeeper who had an imposing outing with the Aba Elephants feels no team is a push over.
“Though the group looks very easy but we will never underrate any team because they worked hard to reach the tourney,” he added.
“We will take each game as they come and will try to win so as to book an easy flight to the next round and after that, we will map out strategies to emerge as champions.”
Nigeria take on Tunisia in their first game on January 18 at the Stade Régional Nyamirambo, Kigali.
