SENATOR VISIT ‘NCDMB’ HEADQUARTERS IN BAYELSA

Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content has led members of the committee on an oversight visit to the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on Thursday.

 

The visit was made known by board in a statement released on its official X handle on Thursday.

 

Felix Ogbe, the executive-secretary of the board hosted the committee at the Conference Hall of the Nigerian Content Tower, in Bayelsa State.

 

The statement partly read, “Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE), Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), along with other top management staff, is currently hosting the Senate Committee on an oversight visit, led by the Chairman, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas.”

 

The visit was said to be part of a broader effort to entrench legislative oversight and also ensure the strategic implementation of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act (NOGICD Act).

 

The statement added, “The ongoing session, taking place at the Conference Hall of the Nigerian Content Tower, featured a presentation by Alhaji Abdumalik Halilu, Director of Capacity Building, on the Board’s activities, followed by remarks by Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content.”

 

According to the statement, the Executive-Secretary welcomed members of the committee cordially and emphasized the board’s resolve to deepening local content in the Oil and gas sector of Nigeria.

 

“The Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE) delivered the welcome address at the ongoing Senate Committee on Local Content’s oversight visit to the Board”, the statement concluded.
