A stolen shuttle bus belonging to the Transport Company of Anambra State with registration number AGU 651 ZL has been recovered by the Anambra State Police Command at Nkwelle, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police Command in an official statement made available on Sunday made it known that the recovery was done on Saturday by police operatives attached to the Obosi Divisional Headquarters.
SP Ikenga noted that officers of the command responded to a distress call made to the Control Room of the Anambra State Police Command by the driver on how a five-man armed criminal gang disguised themselves as passengers and dispossessed him of a cash sum of N20,000 only, and the shuttle bus.
Ikeng said, “Police Operatives attached to the Obosi Divisional Headquarters on 17th May 2025 recovered a stolen shuttle bus with Reg No: AGU 651 ZL belonging to the Transport Company of Anambra State popularly known as (TRACAS) at Nkwelle, Oyi Local Government Area.
“The operatives swung into action following a distress call to the Anambra State Police Command Control Room by the driver on how the five-man armed criminal gang disguised themselves as passengers and dispossessed him of a cash sum of N20,000 only and the shuttle bus.
“Consequently, the operatives acted swiftly and alerted the necessary security checkpoints to deny the criminals access to escape which forced the hoodlums to abandon the vehicle at Slaughter Junction, in Nkwelle and flee through a nearby bush.”
