POLICE ARREST TWO ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT IN LAGOS

The Kano State command of the Nigerian Polkce has confirmed that it has apprehended two suspects with regards to a case of armed robbery and attempted murder in Lagos State.

 

SP Abdullahi Haruna, the command’s Public Relations Officer made this disclosure in a statement released on Saturday.

 

“The Kano State Police Command has achieved a significant breakthrough in a recent case of armed robbery and attempted murder, thanks to its robust intelligence and community collaboration.

 

“On September 11, 2025, the command’s tactical operatives, acting on intelligence, arrested two suspects at Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano. They are: Mathew Adewole, 25, of Na’ibawa Quarters, and Mukhtar Muhammad, 31, of Unguwa Uku Quarters, Kano,” Haruna said.

 

He also explained that during interrogation, Adewole confessed to attacking one Lil-Kesh, a resident of Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos State, on August 19, 2025. The attack left the victim with serious injuries, including a deep cut on the neck.

 

“The suspect forced the victim to transfer N2,120,000 from his account via mobile phone to Mukhtar Muhammad’s account,” Haruna explained.

 

He made it known that the command had been working assiduously to increase its intelligence gathering as well as its collaborative effort against criminal elements in the state.

 

He however noted that the suspects have been committed to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
