Two armed robbery suspects in the Yola-North Local Government Area of Adamawa state have been arrested by men of the Nigerian Police Force.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the public relations officer of the Adamawa state police command made this disclosure in an official statement released on Tuesday.
“On 3rd June 2026, police operatives arrested one Idris Auwal, 22 years old, a resident of Doubeli Culvert, Yola North Local Government Area.
“Through diligent investigation, Idris Auwal was apprehended, while efforts are ongoing to arrest his fleeing accomplices.
“In a similar incident on 5th June 2026, operatives of Doubeli Division arrested another suspected Shilla gang member who specialises in attacking and robbing innocent citizens of their valuables.
“The suspect reportedly approached one Abubakar Abdullahi along Doubeli Bypass, armed with a cutlass, and robbed him of an Itel mobile phone and the sum of N19,000.
Fortunately, police operatives swiftly responded to the scene, arrested the suspect, and ensured the victim received immediate medical attention.
“Items recovered from the suspects include a cutlass, a knife, and the stolen handset.
The statement however concluded that the two suspects are undergoing standard investigative procedures even as the police is making frantic efforts at apprehended the fleeing criminals.
