The Ondo State Government, led by Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, has reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing water supply for residents.
Commissioner for Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, Hon. Sunday Akinwalire announced this while inspecting water projects in the Central Senatorial District, including the Owena Multipurpose Dam.
Governor Aiyedatiwa’s directive to expedite measures for providing potable water from the dam and other facilities underscores the administration’s commitment.
The Owena Dam, with a reservoir capacity of 36 million cubes, is poised to serve water, irrigation, and power generation needs.
Thousands of households are anticipated to benefit from this initiative, reflecting the government’s focus on citizen well-being.
With key officials like the Administrative Secretary, Mrs. Victory Adetoye, and General Manager, Engr. Remigius Ogunjobi, overseeing the project, progress is underway to fulfill the promise of improved water supply in Ondo State.
