‎MAN APPREHENDED FOR KILLING COUSIN IN ANAMBRA STATE

Chukwudalu Ezeani, aged 35 years has been arrested by operatives of the Anambra Command of the Nigerian Police Force on the premise of killing his cousin and dumping his body in a shallow grave. This crime was committed in Afube village, Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state.

‎SP Tochukwu Ikenga, The Police Public Relations Officer made this disclosure in an official statement released on Wednesday.

‎He stated that operatives from the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka later reopened the case based on credible intelligence, which resulted in the apprehension of the suspect..

‎“Operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka, have uncovered an eight-month-old case of a reported missing person with the arrest of one Chukwudalu Ezeani, aged 35 years, in connection with the murder of his cousin, Chinedu Ezeani, aged 52 years.

‎“Preliminary investigations revealed that on August 1, 2025, at about 8 p.m., the suspect allegedly killed the deceased at his residence in Afube village, Amichi, and buried the body in a shallow grave within his compound, thereby concealing the crime for about eight months.

‎“Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and led operatives to the burial site within his compound, where the corpse was exhumed,” he said.

‎The statement revealed that the suspect is now in police custody pending the conclusion of investigation and he would charges to court in due course.
