A suspected kidnapper has been arrested by officers of the Nasarawa State Police Command, while an AK-47 rifle was recovered in the operation which took place in Keana Local Government Area of the state.
Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Nasarawa Police Command stated this in a statement released to journalists on Sunday in Lafia.
He stated in the statement that the operation was carried out by operatives of the State Intelligence Department acting on credible intelligence.
“Upon sighting the operatives, the criminals attempted to flee the scene but were immediately pursued by the police.
“During the operation, one suspect, identified as Jibril Yunusa, 43, was arrested. A search of the hideout led to the recovery of the following exhibits: one AK-47 rifle, one empty magazine and one locally fabricated rifle.”
He further noted that the suspects has been taken into custody, and he is been interrogated in a bid to extract useful information necessary for further police operations and investigation.
