Nigerians have been advised to embrace responsible conduct, patience, endurance and integrity in the new year. This charge was made by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Adviser who made this disclosure in a New Year charge on behalf of the Board on Thursday noted that Nigerians have undergone severe test of their faith, patience and strength in past years, but that the new year presents a renewing experience.
He called on Nigerians to hold on to their hopes as the New Year carries numerous rewards and opportunities for those that remain focused and undeterred.
“This year calls for endurance, integrity and unity; it will favour only those who stay focused, act responsibly and continue to do what is right even when it is difficult or unpopular. Small acts of honesty, compassion and resilience will matter more than ever.”
“I encourage us not to give up,” he added
“I speak with confidence that new opportunities will emerge from present challenges; hard work will find reward in unexpected ways, healing and stability will gradually replace uncertainty, and cooperation across differences will strengthen our nation,” he added.
“Each positive choice we make, no matter how small, adds to the future we all desire. Hold on. Stay steady. Keep moving forward. Better days are possible, and they are built by people who refuse to quit,” he added.
“Do not give up on your dreams, your families, and above all, your ability to contribute meaningfully to the development of our dear nation, Nigeria,” he said, adding that nations grow through the perseverance of ordinary citizens who refuse to lose hope even when progress appears slow.
