Rt. Hon. Mojisola Meranda, Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly has described children as the heartbeat and future of the nation.
Meranda celebrated the resilience, brilliance, and limitless potential of children across Lagos, Nigeria, and beyond in a In a message to mark the 2025 International Children’s Day on Tuesday.
“Today, we celebrate the joy, innocence, and boundless potential of every child in our homes, schools, streets, and communities,” she said.
The state lawmaker representing Apapa Constituency 1 implored children to never relent in believing in their magic and to always believe that their voices are important.
“To all the amazing children in my constituency, Apapa 1, across Lagos, and around the world, you are the heartbeat of our future, the bright stars lighting the path ahead,” the Deputy Speaker said.
The deputy speaker re-emphasized her commitment to advocating for policies and laws that protect children’s rights, promote quality education, and create a safe environment for every child to thrive.
“As your Deputy Speaker, I am committed to championing a society where you can dream freely, learn safely, and grow confidently into the leaders and legends of tomorrow.
