PRESS RELEASE
Ondo State – Bolaji Omotayo Daramola (BOD), an advocate of good governance and sustainable development, has emphatically called upon Governor Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and the party leadership in Ondo State to carefully consider selecting the next Deputy Governor from Ondo Kingdom.
Acknowledging the strategic importance of equitable representation, particularly in the state’s leadership structure, Daramola emphasized the significance of ensuring that all regions within Ondo State are adequately represented.
He highlighted that, if the Central Senatorial District gets the nod, then Ondo Kingdom should definitely have it, as the elected Senator from the Central Senatorial District is a native of Akure. He underlined the importance of balancing regional representation within the government for equity, fairness and developmental stand points.
Furthermore, Daramola pointed to the significant voter turnout from Ondo Kingdom during the primary elections, indicating the strong support and enthusiasm of the people towards the governor’s administration. He stressed that tapping into this reservoir of support would be decisive, as choosing the governor’s running mate from Ondo Kingdom will translate to bloc votes during the gubernatorial election in November.
He emphasized the forward-thinking nature of the Ondo people, and their potential to contribute meaningfully to the development agenda of Governor Aiyedatiwa. He expressed confidence that appointing a Deputy Governor from Ondo Kingdom would bring inclusivity, unity, and progress across the state.
