The Ondo State House of Assembly has come under intense scrutiny for frivolous expenditures and outrageous budgetary approvals in the 2025 budgetary estimates.
For instance, it was alleged that the assembly allocated 200m to all members of the assembly for phone calls and also that of the speaker, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, which is estimated to gulp #280,000.
In another twist, the assembly is also under probe for a rather amusing allocation of #462,000,000 vehicle maintenance for the 26 member assembly in the 2025 fiscal year. A situation that is seen as an affront to the austere measure that the masses are made to endure.
Among other things, it was reported that the state assembly had also allocated an humongous amount for security and travels for the speaker. This act has now attracted the EFCC who are now in the state to scrutinize the expenditure and other budgetary anomaly.
Concerned individuals noted that the assembly seems to be interested in frivolities, despite the fact that the state has been noted as the least developing state in terms of southwest when compared to the other states.
