UNIMED Alumni to Honour Mimiko’s Legacy with Inaugural Distinguished Lecture.
The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) Alumni Association will host the inaugural Olusegun Mimiko Distinguished Alumni Lecture on October 3rd, 2026, celebrating the vision of the university’s founder. The lecture, themed “Advancing Health Equity and Innovation: The Legacy of a Caring Heart,” will feature Professor Friday Okonofua, the university’s first Vice-Chancellor, as the keynote speaker.
The event aims to foster discussions on healthcare, innovation, and equity, while reconnecting alumni with the institution’s founding ideals. UNIMED Alumni Association President Adedayo Adesida emphasized the importance of upholding the values set forth by Dr. Mimiko and the role of alumni in furthering the university’s mission.
