‎COORDINATED ACTION AGAINST INSECURITY IN YOBE

by Adeyinka Adetan

The Nigeria Police Force has called for stronger collaboration with the Yobe State Government and stakeholders to enhance ongoing efforts aimed at tackling crime and insecurity in the state.

‎The Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Intelligence Department, Zakariya Fera, made the call on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to Governor Mai Mala Buni in Damaturu, the state capital.

‎Fera, who led a team of senior police officers and other security agencies on an operational assessment visit across the North-East, said the mission was directed by the Inspector-General of Police to evaluate ongoing security operations in the region.

‎He explained that the team deliberately travelled by road through several states to enable officers assess the security situation firsthand.

‎“We are here to see what our officers on the ground are doing and whether they are working in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police,” he said.

‎“This is particularly an operational visit and that is why we are dressed in operational gear,” he added.

‎”The enemies of society live within the society and not among police officers”

‎“If stakeholders do not provide information, it will be difficult for the police to make meaningful progress in combating crime and criminality.

‎“Yobe people have suffered enough and we say enough is enough. We are determined to take the battle to criminals and ensure citizens enjoy peace and security.
