by Ayomide Ayodele

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has announced major restructuring efforts across its state chapters following the 25th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

In a communiqué signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Egbeola Wale Martins, the party resolved to begin the sale of nomination forms for the Anambra governorship election, with women receiving free forms and young aspirants aged 35-40 paying half the nomination fee.

Barr. Okemili Greg was appointed as the Acting Chairman of the YPP Imo State chapter, replacing Kingsley Nwahiri, while a 13-member caretaker committee, led by Myles Jack Davou, was set up to oversee the Plateau chapter.

The party also demanded an independent probe into allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, stressing the need for justice and accountability in the legislature.

YPP urged political leaders in Rivers, Lagos, and Osun to uphold the rule of law, while calling on President Bola Tinubu’s administration to reconsider its economic policies. The party warned of rising economic hardship and advocated for a reduction in the cost of governance, referencing the Orosanye report as a viable solution.
