The appeal committee set up by the All Progressives Congress for Delta State National Assembly Primaries have declared that aggrieved aspirants and party members should formally submitt complaints arising from Saturday’s House of Representatives primary elections conducted across the state.
The committee has expressed that this decision aims to enhance the party’s internal democratic process and ensure fairness, transparency, and credibility. This follows the direct primaries that selected candidates for the 10 federal constituencies in Delta State.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Festus Ahon, the Chief Press Secretary to the Delta State Governor, the Chairman of the committee, Mr Chukwuemeka Ujam, said “the party leadership remains committed to a transparent and credible process free from interference.”
“all petitions, appeals and complaints relating to the conduct of the primaries would receive due attention in accordance with the party’s constitution, guidelines and democratic principles.”
”The appeal process provides an opportunity for dissatisfied aspirants and stakeholders to seek redress through established party mechanisms, while also helping to preserve unity within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections
