The Osun State command of the Nigerian Police Force has faulted claims contained in a viral video as to attack carried out on travelers by bandits at Omi Funfun, Ora Igbomina, in Ifedayo Local Government Area of Osun State.
Abiodun Ojelabi, the command’s spokesman posited that the said attack depicted in the viral video actually occurred in Kwara State and not in Osun State.
“The Police Command wishes to clarify and inform the general public that the trending video on social media has nothing to do with Osun State.
“The alleged attack occurred on 18th August, 2025, around Rore/Arandun area, Kwara State.”
He frowned at mischievous and misguided reports of incidents that occurred in other jurisdictions as though they occurred in Osun State.
“The Command therefore enjoins the general public to disregard the viral video/information and warns against tagging such video which happened in another State to have happened in Osun State and spreading or peddling of unconfirmed/unverified story/news,” the statement partly read.
