UEFA HONORS CHELSEA FOR HISTORIC EUROPEAN ACHIEVEMENT

by Adeyinka Adetan

Chelsea were on Thursday presented with a special award by UEFA during the Champions League draw in Monaco for becoming the first club to win all four of the governing body’s major competitions.

The recognition follows the club’s UEFA Conference League triumph in May, where they beat Real Betis 4-1 in Wrocław to complete the set of Champions League, Europa League, Cup Winners’ Cup and Conference League titles.

UEFA President, Aleksander Čeferin, handed the award to Chelsea representatives at the ceremony, noting the uniqueness of the achievement.

Chelsea’s European record now includes two Champions League trophies (2012, 2021), two Europa League titles (2013, 2019), two Cup Winners’ Cups (1971, 1998), a UEFA Super Cup (1998, 2021), and the 2025 Conference League.

This makes them the first team in history to achieve the clean sweep of UEFA’s major club trophies.
