‎TWELVE KIDNAP VICTIMS RESCUED BY ARMY; SUSPECTS ARRESTED

In a heartening development, the Nigerian Army has shared that their dedicated troops, as part of Operation Eastern Sanity, successfully rescued 12 kidnapped victims. During this commendable security operation in the Ette Community of Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area in Enugu State, they also apprehended two suspects.

On Saturday, the Army shared a statement through their official account, expressing that the rescue operation was successfully conducted by the dedicated troops of the 82 Division Nigerian Army. This was in response to a distress call concerning the abduction of several community residents.

‎The statement mentioned that the operation occurred on Friday, March 6, 2026, following a tip-off to security operatives about suspected kidnappers who had taken several victims to a nearby spot.

‎“Troops of the 82 Division Garrison under Operation EASTERN SANITY have recorded another operational success with the rescue of 12 kidnapped victims in Ette Community, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State,” the Army said.

‎“Responding swiftly and with precision, the troops immediately mobilised in conjunction with police operatives, Forest Guards and members of the Neighbourhood Watch, advancing to the suspected area where the victims were believed to have been taken,” the statement added.

‎“Overwhelmed by the rapid response and superior combat readiness of the troops, the kidnappers abandoned their captives and fled the scene,” the statement said.

‎“During the exploitation of the location, all the 12 kidnapped victims were successfully rescued unharmed,” the Army stated.

‎“The successful rescue further demonstrates the troops’ sustained operational pressure and unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property while restoring lasting security and public confidence across communities in the region,” the statement added.
