The Immaculate Conception Minor Seminary School at Ivianokpodi, Agenebode, Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State came under gunmen attack on Thursday night resulting in the demise of an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps attached to the school.
It was also reported that a local vigilante was injured in the process while three seminarian were abducted in the attack.
Rev. Fr. Peter Egielewa, The Directorate of Social Communications, Catholic Diocese of Auchi confirmed the incident on Friday. He said the attack on the school was carried out around 9:00pm.
Egielewa also disclosed that it was the second time in a period of ten months that the school came under attack with a priest kidnapped when the initial incident occurred.
Egielewa condemned the repeated attacks on the Catholic school and its personnel, calling on the government to protect lives within the institutions.
He also called on security operatives to ensure that they live up to their responsibilities so much that the people can go about their lawful endeavors in peace.
