TAMBUWAL GET HERO’S WELCOME IN SOKOTO AFTER EFCC INTERROGATION 

Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Senator representing Sokoto South was received with pomp and sounds as he was welcomed by residents of the state sequel to his recent detention by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

 

In a video clip shared on his official X handle, scores of people cheering the former govern as they line up the street in their numbers as he made his way through the city.

 

In a caption shared alongside the video clip, the former governor described the gesture by his supporters as something he deeply values.

 

He wrote, “I am deeply grateful to the good people of Sokoto for the warm reception and outpouring of love upon my arrival in Sokoto this afternoon. This is one honour among many that I cherish and will never take for granted. -AWT.”

 

Tambuwal had honoured an EFCC invitation on Monday, during which he was questioned and detained over alleged fraudulent cash withdrawals totalling N189 billion. He was released on bail on Tuesday.
