‎STAGED KIDNAPPING: POLICE TO PROSECUTE TWO IN ONDO 

Olawale Sikiru and Agbelusi Ayomide, a duo that got involved in a fake kidnapping to extort ransom from Sikiru’s family are set up to be arraigned by the Ondo State Police Command.

‎Abayomi Jimoh, the official spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command state in an official statement released on Saturday that Sikiru faked his own abduction with the assistance of Ayomide and demanded a ransom of N1m from his relatives.

‎“On July 5, 2026, one Mrs Iyabo of Oda Road, Akure, reported to the police that her 33-year-old son, Olawale Sikiru, of St. Luke Street, Akure, had allegedly been kidnapped while travelling to Igbara-Oke for work by unknown persons.

‎“Following the report, the command immediately commenced a coordinated investigation, deploying intelligence assets and conducting forensic analysis of the telephone number used by the suspects to demand a ransom of N1m from the victim’s family.

‎“The painstaking investigation yielded positive results on July 7, 2026, when detectives arrested Olawale Sikiru, who was discovered to have orchestrated his own kidnapping.”
