The Lagos State Environmental Taskforce has arrested six (6) suspected hoodlums who allegedly specialised in robbing motorists who get stranded due to mechanical faults developed by their vehicles.
Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment made this disclosure on Saturday via his X handle. He noted that the routine operation was towards getting rid of criminal elements terrorising road users in the state.
“Today, at about 9:30 am, the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce continued its operation against hoodlums who have taken to the streets of Lagos and violently unleashed terror on drivers whose vehicles broke down, dispossessing them of their valuables as a means of livelihood,” Wahab said.
“The operation covered Maryland and the entire length of Ikorodu Road where some undesirable elements numbering up to six were arrested and taken to the office for prosecution.”
