Senator Shehu Buba, lawmaker representing Bauchi South Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate has kick-started the distribution of 18,200 bags of rice to families in the Senatorial district in a gesture aimed at supporting them for Ramadan.
The Senator explained that the initiative was aimed at supporting Muslims to observe the Ramadan fast and easing the burden on vulnerable families.
Deserving families in the seven local government areas of the zone — Alkakeri, Bauchi, Bogoro, Dass, Kirfi, Tafawa Balewa and Toro would start taking delivery of the gesture soon.
“In a move that extends beyond my immediate constituency, we earmarked 3,500 bags for Bauchi North and 3,000 for Bauchi Central.
“The remaining bags are designated for APC leaders, selected organisations and other stakeholders across the state,” he said.
