Ademola Adeleke, the executive Governor of Osun State has sympathized with victims of the heavy rainstorm that wrecked a considerable degree of damage in Osogbo and other parts of the state.
Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokesperson conveyed the governor’s sympathy to the victims of the rainstorm and also echoed the government’s support.
“On behalf of the government and good people of my state, I sincerely sympathise with the victims of the heavy rainstorms occasioned by the devastating downpour on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in Osogbo and its adjoining communities.
“I must say that I feel deeply touched and alarmed by the incident and my administration will, no doubt, put in place everything morally and officially possible through the Osun State Emergency Management Agency (OSEMA) with a view to offsetting the attendant losses incurred by the victims in Osogbo and other affected communities.
“I have also directed the Ministry of Works to quickly swing into action by clearing the motorways to prevent further accidents.
The governor urged residents to adopt measures such as tree planting to forestall a recurrence of such incident and also assuage the impact of natural disasters, while cautioning against indiscriminate felling of trees.
