PRESIDENT TINUBU RAISES 2025 BUDGET ESTIMATE

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has jacked up the 2025 budget estimate by 4.5 trillion Naira. The budget with the initial sum of #49.7 trillion now has a new total sum of #54.2 trillion.

This increase in figure was communicated to both chambers of the National Assembly by a letter signed by the president and read during plenary by the Senate president, Godswill Obot Akpabio.

President Tinubu said the increment was as a result of additional revenue by key revenue-generating agencies; #1.4 trillion by the Federal Inland Revenue Service; #1.2 trillion from the Nigerian custom service; and #1.8 trillion generated by other government agencies.

Senator Akpabio referred the president’s request to the senate committee on appropriation for urgent consideration. The senate president assured the lawmakers that the budget would be passed by the end of February.
