A Point-of-Sale (POS) operator named Daniel had been shot dead by robbers very close to the Everyday Supermarket in the World Bank area of Owerri, the Imo State capital by a group of people suspected to be armed robbers.
According to reports, Daniel who happens to be a native of Ndegwu in the Orogwe community, Owerri West Local Government Area of the state was attacked and killed at his business spot.
According to a source privy to the occurrence, the attack is a sequel to a pattern of attacks that has been unleashed on POS operators around the area in recent times.
“This young man was a POS operator stationed near the Everyday Supermarket, World Bank, Owerri. He was shot dead by armed robbers on Sunday night.
“There is a growing trend of POS agents being targeted within New Owerri and the World Bank. The police should act swiftly to apprehend those responsible and ensure they are brought to justice,” he added.
