The Ondo State Police Command has taken a 23-year-old man into custody for allegedly sexually defiling a teenage girl in Owo local government of the state.
The individual in question, named Emmanuel Usman, has been accused of forcibly dragging the victim into the office of his employer, located in Ijebu Quarters, Owo, on March 29, 2026.
He then allegedly engaged in unlawful sexual activity without her consent.
The victim alleged that Usman threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone, an attempt to intimidate and silence her.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Abayomi Jimoh, the Ondo State Police Command spokesperson affirmed the arrest of the suspect through an official statement issued on Monday in Akure.
”The Ondo State Police Command under the leadership of CP Adebowale Lawal psc(+), mnips wishes to inform the general public of a reported case of defilement which is currently under thorough investigation by the Command’s Gender-Based Violence Unit.
“According to the report, the victim alleged that on the same date, one Emmanuel Usman ‘M’, aged 23 years, forcefully dragged her into his employer’s office located along Ijebu Owo, where he had unlawful carnal knowledge of her without her consent.
“Upon receipt of the report, operatives swiftly moved into action, leading to the arrest of the suspect. He is currently in police custody and has made useful statements that are aiding the investigation,
