‎OYEBAMIJI CALLS ON POLITICIANS TO ESCHEW BITTERNESS

‎Biodun Oyebamiji, the executive Governor of Ekiti State has implored politicians to play politics without resorting to acts of bitterness in a bid to entrenched an healthy political space that drives real growth and development.

‎Oyebamiji made this disclosure while making remarks at the Faculty of Arts Distinguished Alumni Lecture at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State on Thursday.

‎“Election does not have to be war, and winners do not have to take all. Raw power, politics of exclusion, and political intolerance are a recipe for instability and rancour,” Oyebanji said.

‎“Upon assuming office, I deliberately reached out to all differing political tendencies in Ekiti—both intra-party and inter-party—through inclusion, respect, and solidarity. This approach was initially met with skepticism but has gradually been embraced. Today, Ekiti, which was once notorious for political crises, is one of the most politically stable states in Nigeria.”

‎“We should be deliberate in building a political culture based on the Omoluabi ethos. Extreme political positions that create fractures and stall development are unacceptable, especially given our current stage of socio-economic and political development,” he added.
