Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Board flagged off the November 2015 Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Week (MNCHW) at a ceremony held in the premises of Mother and Child Hospital,
Akure. The programme was initiated for effective distribution of vitamin A supplement for children between 6- 59 months across the 18LGAs.
The Executive Governor of the State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko charged all the Local Government Chairmen to provide necessary support needed for the successful implementation of the programme. He also thanked the various development partners especially NPHCDA, UNICEF, WHO and other donor agencies.
The Deputy Governor Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Kola Ademujimi Commissioner for Health Dr. Dayo Adeyanju, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health Dr. Oni and Dr. Olugbenga Osunmakinwa the Executive Secretary OSPHCDB were some of the top government functionaries present at the flag off ceremony. The Deji of Akure Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi and other traditional leaders graced at the ceremony.
