A viral message circulating on social media stating that financial service provider, OPAY is giving out money to users during the festive season has been strongly rebutted by the company.
The fraudulent giveaway message which gained traction on the internet on Thursday reads “Opay just sent every user N5,000 for Christmas Celebration. Did you receive yours?”
Opay described the message as false and misleading, warning members of the public to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to scammers through an official message released in response to the fraudulent act.
The company strongly advised it’s users to desist from sharing their personal information with untrusted sources masquerading as the company as it is not running any such promo.
The statement read, “Opay is not giving money to anyone during this festive season. Beware of scammers, do not transfer money to strangers, never share your BVN to anyone.”
