OLUWO HAILS CUSTOMS BOSS FOR BOOSTING REVENUE, SECURING BORDERS

Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo has heaped praises on Adewale Adeniyi, the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service for tackling security breaches at the country’s borders and enhancing national revenue profile.

 

The monarch explained that Adeniyi had brought professionalism and digital intelligence to border management and also putting in concrete effort at curtailing economic sabotage and smuggling across borders.

 

Alli Ibraheem, the monarch’s Chief Press Secretary made it known in a statement released on Monday that the monarch explained that the country’s porous borders had long posed a threat to internal security expressed confidence in Adeniyi’s leadership.

 

‎“Adeniyi has addressed border leakages and tackled economic sabotage. He has proven to be a disciplined and experienced officer with a clear understanding of border operations,” he said.

The Oluwo also applauded the customs boss for effectively increasing the revenue base of the agency and ensuring that the agency has made more fund available for the use of the government.

 

‎He lauded Adeniyi’s election as Chairman of the World Customs Organisation, describing it as a reflection of his global recognition and credibility.

‎“This is a boost to Nigeria’s image. We are proud of him. He has raised the bar in the Customs Service and shown that Nigerians can lead global institutions,” he added.
