Toyin Abraham’s Oversabi Aunty has taken another step beyond Nigeria, screening in Berlin, Germany, on August 8 as Nigeria’s selection at the Box Office Around the World 2026 open-air film festival at the Humboldt Forum. The festival spotlights major domestic box-office successes from six countries that had not previously been shown on the big screen in Germany.
And Toyin wasn’t just represented by the film. She joined audiences in Berlin for a special conversation ahead of the screening as the film’s director and lead actress. 🎥✨
What makes the moment even sweeter is the journey behind it.
Oversabi Aunty crossed ₦1 BILLION at the West African box office, with the Humboldt Forum describing it as the first Nollywood directorial debut to achieve the milestone. Toyin also wears several hats on the project as writer, director, producer and lead actress.
