NAOSS, Gemstone and Hope Initiative hold fellowership symposium

National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) National Body in conjunction with GEMSTONE & Hope Initiative Nigeria on Thursday, 11 February, 2016 held a symposium tagged: The Followership Symposium ‎with theme “The journey of a Meme” at the ‎Babafunke Ajasin Auditorium, Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs.

The program had in attendance dignitaries from all works of life such has Dr. Mrs. Modupe Ajayi, Dayo Nigeria, Olufemi Iroko, Dr. Thomas Wilson, Brigadier J.O Komolafe, Hon Olamide George, Pst. Sam Neye, Speaker Nigeria Youth Parliament Rt. Hon. Ayodele Obe, Mr Shola Akinbinu, Ms Ojamaliya Abuh, Joel Adeniyi, Mark Afolabi and many others

The event spurred youth on the importance‎ of been a good follower in every society and towards building a generation purposeful leadership. Leadership qualities and abilities in developing the future were discussed. How students can use ICT positively like reading books online making‎ positive use of social media to connect with those who would make impact on their life rather than wasting time on unnecessary things was also emphasised.

Nigeria Youth Parliament Speaker Ayo Obe also charge the young ones to be problem solver and not problem creator that they should always try and create material that would b‎e useful for them and the country at large.

He further said that there must be a joint effort from both the follower and the leaders so as to begin a meaningful development in every society and organizations.

One of the participants said that followers most try and check mate, advice and politely pin point the mistake of the leaders that these would help the leaders.

There were‎ students from Federal University of Technology Akure, Obafemi Awolowo University ile-Ife, AAUA, University of Ibadan, EKSU, School of Health Technology ACE, Akure, Federal College of Agriculture Akure and secondary school students from Akure and a couple from Oka Akoko and it environments.

The Convener, Oluwatosin V. Akinbulumo appreciated everyone who made the program a success inclusive of Ondo State Government, Corporate partners, sponsors, media partners, volunteers, participants and every other person/organization involved in all stages of the event.  Certificate of participation were issued out to all participants of the Symposium.
