Senator Ahmad Lawan, the former Senate President has embarked on a condolence visit to Dikko Radda, the Katsina State Governor on the passing of his mother, Hajiya Sarafa’u Umaru who died recently.
According to a press release from his media office in Abuja, Sarafa’u died at the age of 93 on March 23. Lawal expressed great sadness over the loss.
The Yobe North Senator described her as a woman of great virtue and wisdom whose life left an indelible mark on her family and community.
The statement partly read, “It is with a heavy heart that I stand here today to commiserate with His Excellency, Governor Radda, and the entire family over the loss of their beloved matriarch.
“Hajiya Sarafa’u was a pillar of strength and devotion, and her legacy lives on through the exemplary leadership of her son, who continues to serve Katsina State with passion and humility.”
He explained that it is very important for him to have come around personally to express his sympathy upon his return from an executive course in Harvard Kennedy School of Government in the United States.
