Lagos State 🇳🇬 Set to Host the 2026 CAF Awards as CAF Inspection Team Arrives.

Lagos State has taken another major step toward hosting one of African football’s biggest nights, as officials from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) arrived in the state for a crucial inspection visit ahead of the 2026 CAF Awards.

The CAF delegation was received by officials of the Lagos State Sports Commission and taken on a tour of the proposed venue and other key facilities. The visit forms an important part of CAF’s evaluation process, ensuring that the host city meets the required standards for infrastructure, security, logistics, hospitality, and event management.

Hosting the CAF Awards is more than just organizing a football ceremony, it is an opportunity to showcase a city’s capacity to stage world-class international events while promoting tourism, culture, and economic activity.

Lagos State says preparations are well underway, with officials committed to ensuring that every detail meets CAF’s expectations. If all requirements are successfully met, Lagos will welcome Africa’s biggest football stars, administrators, and fans for a memorable celebration of excellence in African football.

The inspection marks another significant milestone in Nigeria’s efforts to host prestigious continental sporting events and further reinforces Lagos’ position as one of Africa’s leading destinations for international conferences, entertainment, and sports.
