Mrs Mojisola Meranda, the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly has refuted a rumor flying around regarding her purported resignation from the office.

A statement by her Chief Press Secretary, Mr Segun Ajiboye clears the air around the alleged resignation.

“I’m in the office. The speaker is in the office. I don’t know where that is coming from,” Ajiboye said in a chat with PUNCH Online.

A circular dated February 17, 2025 said to have emanated from the office of the speaker had been gaining traction online to the effect that she has resigned from office.

However, a closer look at the circular trending on social media shows that it wasn’t signed by anybody.

The Lagos State House of Assembly has been enmeshed in crisis since the removal of Hon. Mudashiru Obasa by majority of the members of the assembly.
