Faruk Lawal-Jobe, the acting Governor of Katsina State has implored the federal government to provide comprehensive security measures as a matter of urgency to protect the state and its citizenry from increasing spate of attacks.
The acting Governor made this call in Katsina on Tuesday sequel to the murder of 13 worshippers were killed in a mosque at Unguwan Muntau community in Malumfashi Local Government Area.
“We respectfully request Mr President to give marching orders to all security agencies to holistically and decisively bring an end to these unprovoked attacks on our peaceful communities.
“The people of Katsina State deserve to live in safety and pursue their livelihoods without fear,” he said.
“Our farmers, traders, and families should not have to live in constant fear.
“We need our President’s direct intervention to mobilise all necessary resources and provide the security architecture our state requires.”
The acting governor showed gratitude to security agencies currently involved in the operation to salvage the situation in the state.
“We acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of our security personnel who continue to risk their lives to protect our communities.
“Their dedication and sacrifices are highly appreciated, all these efforts will not go unnoticed,” the acting governor added.
He expressed strong commendation for the important role of the Community Watch Corps and Vigilante Groups in ensuring that people are defended and protected against criminals and attackers.
The acting governor also echoed the statement government’s commitment to effective collaboration with federal authorities and security agencies towards the restoration of peace, security, and tranquility in the state.
