‎FIVE ARRESTED IN LAGOS FOR HIGHWAY EXTORTION  ‎

Hoodlums operating numbering up to five operating along the Aboru, Abule-Egba–Abeokuta Expressway and the Tafawa Balewa Square area of Lagos state have been apprehended by men of the Lagos State Task Force.

‎Raheem Gbadeyan, the spokesperson for the agency disclosed that the hoodlums specialises in extorting motorist usually target motorists whose vehicles broke down on the highway and extorting money from them under the false pretence of offering assistance.

‎“They go about accosting unsuspecting motorists and extorting them of their hard-earned money when their vehicles break down around Abule-Egba, Aboru and TBS areas of the state.

‎“They were arrested following a tip-off through the agency’s hotlines. Our operatives swung into action and apprehended them while they were pretending to assist a motorist to fix a broken-down vehicle. They attempted to extort the motorist but were prevented when he quickly contacted the Lagos State Task Force. Further checks confirmed they are Omotaku who had evaded arrest several times before now,” the statement read.

‎Raheem listed the names of the arrested urchins to include Alade Olarewaju (25), Oluwadamilare Alabi (38), Sunday Idowu (32), Rabiu Ibrahim (29), and Raji Yusuf (23).

‎He also revealed that the arrested suspect have been charged to court sequel to the completion of investigations.
